The Twelve Nights of Christmas
The Twelve Days of Christmas by Sarah Morgan
by Sarah Morgan

Evie Anderson’s dreams have just come crashing down all around her. She had thought London would be exciting but instead she’s broke, evicted, and Christmas is approaching. Surely it can’t get any worse! Unfortunately, things do get worse and now she’s dealing with Rio Zaccarelli’s anger and suspicion. Is there any hope of Evie getting a happily-ever-after when she’s dealing with such a Scrooge?

Sarah Morgan does a phenomenal job with character development. It’s hard not to cheer for Evie as she is a victim of misfortune- and yet, she never gives up. Her unshakeable faith in the midst of her multiple heartaches is admirable, but it is her desire to make her Grandpa happy that touches the reader’s heart. Rio is a bit more difficult to like as he is prickly from the very page. However, Sarah Morgan more than redeems him as the story unfolds.

Sarah Morgan provides some fascinating twists in THE TWELVE NIGHTS OF CHRISTMAS, some occurring fairly early on while others are saved for the very end. I particularly like the fact that she is willing to show her character’s flaws while also showing their strengths overcoming them. What a perfect tale for the Christmas season!
